a little something about us
There is a well known saying (if perhaps now a little dated) that behind every successful man is a good woman.
This couldn't be more true in my case. But how do we measure a persons success in life? For me personally wealth and fame has never really been high on my list of important things. Wealth to me is having the love and support of my amazing family & friends in my artistic endeavours. I'm a dreamer, a musician, an artist. I look at every opportunity as a chance to learn, create and practice what skills I have to reach my goals. "Then set new ones".
Tina and I met when I was 19 & have three wonderful children. Lewis, Ellie & Daniel & Two Amazing doggies Dudley & Daisey.
Although I have worked in the music & entertainment industry for over 35 years my passion for art came way before this. On the seafront of my hometown Great Yarmouth the local portrait artists became lifelong friends and I would spend endless days watching, learning and turning up at their studios while they worked on amazing, bigger, more personal works. My best friend Amos's mum Beatrice was an incredible artist also. So in fact I had the best schooling ever without even attending a classroom. However, practicality stepped in and with my parents support and endless driving me to "gigs" I entered show business.
My career has taken me around the globe many times. All seven continents (including being one of only a few people to sketch the penguins on land in Antarctica. Organised by an amazing expedition team). I'm very fortunate to have worked with and become friends with so many amazing people on this planet from literally everywhere and every walk of life.
In 2015 good friends of ours offered us the opportunity to buy a dream. I say dream as it had always been "my" dream to wake up and look out at beautiful scenery, play music, paint and just wonder at the nature around us. Well this is where the support I mentioned earlier really comes in to play Tina never even questioned me once about the remortgaging and borrowing of money, even though she probably pictured us living in a tent for a while and eating fish from the lake (just kidding). This is the wealth I was talking about, my family supporting me with my dream. we bought "Canoe lake" WOW Dream come true.
We have been working on the land and the lake which is situated in the heart of the Wensum valley solidly over the past 2 years and will be dedicating a few pages of this website to some of the exciting plans we hope to put in place soon.
This is just a short introduction to who we are really. There is so more I would like to share & hopefully you will take a look at some of my work. Mostly though I would like you to join on a journey, as this artwork is only a fraction of the goals I have set. "And then there will be new goals".
